24th Street Cafe

This cafe is a local legend, featured on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and "Best Thing I Ever Ate." With publicity like this, you already know the food will be good. All of their food is freshly prepared while you wait. It may take a little longer, but every diner appreciates fresh food made from scratch. They have their regular menu, and a daily special menu too.

Their egg and chorizo with sausage gravy on freshly baked biscuits are always a big hit. One of our personal favorites is their Cajun seafood omelet that makes you think of New Orleans. For a lighter appetite, their delicious homemade pumpkin pancakes with pecan butter are a must-try. They also offer one of the best Cobb salads we've ever tasted. They're open daily from 6 am to 2.30 pm, and you'll them at 1415 24th Street.

Bagels & Blenderz

If you're looking for lighter breakfast food or something to eat on the go, Bagels is the place to get it. Service is fast and friendly, and they have a seemingly unending supply of regulars drawn to their delicious food. Their breakfast menu focuses on omelets, bagels, and burritos. The morning starter bagel with turkey, egg white, pepper jack, spinach, and fresh avocado is a perfect hand-held breakfast when you need to eat and are on your way somewhere.

If you're not pressed for time and can relax and enjoy breakfast, we recommend their meat lover's omelet with three eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and mixed cheese. Their portions are really big, and this omelet will give you all the energy you need to get your day started the right way. If you'd prefer something lighter, their banana bread french toast on freshly baked banana bread, with sliced banana, maple syrup, and powdered sugar is awesome.

Hodel's Country Dining

For a country-style buffet at its best, you should visit Hodel's at 5917 Knudsen Dr. They're Tuesday to Saturday from 8 am to 11 am, serving the best breakfast buffet in town. Whether you're packing a hearty appetite or just looking for something light, they've got an option for you. Their freshly-baked cinnamon rolls fill the air with their delicious scent, and platters of bacon, sausage, and other hot foods tempt you to forget your diet for today.
